About the author: Nick Allen is a passionate tramper and climber. Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 25, Nick thought his climbing dreams were over. With the help of rehabilitation specialists, Nick has been able to get back outdoors, climbing and tramping. Based in Christchurch, close to the Southern Alps, Nick initiated the Mastering Mountains Charitable Trust because he saw the need for a community of active people.

When he is not climbing or tramping, Nick works as a content creator and brand ambassador for Macpac and MitoQ. Nick is also a public speaker and an award-winning author.
