Katy Achieves her Mission!

On November 4th 2021, our 2020 Grant Recipient Katy Glenie accomplished her mission to climb the Minarets (3,040 metres) in New Zealand's Southern Alps. The Mastering Mountains team could not be more thrilled for her.

“The climb was hard, really hard,” Katy said. “The sections that I thought would be difficult were easy, and the bits that should have been easy were incredibly difficult. We had baking sun, howling wind, bullet hard ice, and everything in between. I laughed, screamed, cried on repeat throughout the 12-hour day.”

In these podcasts, Katy talks about her diagnosis, adventuring with Multiple Sclerosis and recounts her climb:

A huge thanks go to all the people and organisations who made this possible:
Macpac, MitoQ, Outfitters NZ, New Zealand Alpine Club, Anzed Car Rentals, Southern Approach and Connect Neuro Physiotherapy.
