Mastering Mountains Charitable Trust and the Multiple Sclerosis Society of New Zealand have come together to offer people diagnosed with MS the Mastering Mountains Grant. The purpose of the grant is ‘to assist people who have been diagnosed as having Multiple Sclerosis to overcome a specific obstacle so that they can achieve a specific outdoor pursuit’. Successful applicants will be eligible for a financial contribution payable for their activity fees with the amount awarded at the discretion of the Selection Panel.
With this scholarship, Mastering Mountains hopes to help people with MS pursue adventures that encourage a healthy lifestyle and changes the perceptions of MS, in accordance with the Trust’s purposes.
- Applications are open to people with MS who are New Zealand residents.
- Applicants are required to explain in a statement on the application form the reasons why they chose the selected activity and how the experience will benefit them.
- Applicants must also identify the obstacle the grant will help them overcome to complete the activity and must outline the steps they are taking and will take to prepare for the activies.
Applications will open 1st August and close on the 31st October annually.
